I like what the professor did because if people are cheating it should be called out. The thing that confuses me is that the story seems to blame both the student and some outside source for a hack.
Other chapters made it sound like a hack was someone else taking over. This chapter made it sound like the student is the hacker and cheating. Can this be clarified?
That’s a great point, and I can definitely see how that came across as confusing. The previous hacks involved outsiders taking over other people’s implants and controlling their avatars. In Ava’s case, the suspicion is different…they think she’s using her own implant but has found a way to hack into the system so she can be there without taking over someone else’s implant. At the same time, some characters also suspect she may have ties to the outside hacking organization, which is why both possibilities are discussed. I’ll see if I can make that distinction clearer in the chapter. Thanks for pointing it out!
